The Itinerary

Day 1

Sydney to Dubbo

Depart Sydney in the morning, stopping at Wentworth Falls Lookout for a refreshing morning tea. Continue through scenic routes to Vale Creek Wines for a wine tasting session with a platter.

Afterward, head towards Dubbo, arriving in the late afternoon.

Check-in and unwind before a welcome dinner at your accommodation.

Day 2

Dubbo to Lightning Ridge

Start your day with breakfast before departing for Gilgandra, where you’ll enjoy a brief driving tour of the township.

Continue to Gulargambone for a stop at the painted water tower and a morning tea at Lions Park. Afterward, visit Walgett, stopping en route in Coonamble to view the painted grain silo.

Enjoy lunch at Stonesthrow Café and then head toward Lightning Ridge.

Check-in, followed by pre-dinner drinks at the Lightning Ridge Bowling Club, before enjoying dinner nearby.

Day 3

Touring Lightning Ridge

After breakfast, embark on a guided town tour, including a visit to Bevans Cactus Nursery. Then, explore the John Murray Art Gallery for a self-guided inspection.

Afterward, enjoy a lunch at your leisure, before heading to the Chambers of The Black Hand, an underground opal museum.

Return to your accommodation for some time to relax, swim in the Bore Baths, and have dinner at the Lightning Ridge Bowling Club.

Day 4

3 Pubs in the Scrub Tour

Following breakfast, meet your guide for a full-day tour of the opal fields, including stops at the Grawin and Sheepyards Inn.

Take a break for morning tea along the way and enjoy a simple lunch at The Glengarry Hilton, where drinks are at your own expense (cash only).

Return to the motel in the afternoon for a refreshing swim in the artesian pool before a relaxed dinner at the Lightning Ridge Bowling Club.

Day 5

Cubbie Station & Moree

Start the day with breakfast, then depart for Dirranbandi Park. Meet a local guide for a tour, watch a video, and enjoy morning tea.

Visit a farm and then depart for Thallon, where lunch will be served at The Francis Hotel. Afterward, continue to your accommodation at the Artesian Spa Motel in Moree.

In the evening, enjoy dinner at the Moree Ex-Services Club.

Day 6

Moree to Mudgee

Check out of your motel and start your day with breakfast at the Moree Ex-Services Club. Depart for Coonabarrabran, where you’ll stop at the Information Centre for a morning tea.

Afterward, head to Gulgong, enjoy lunch at the Lucky Star Chinese Restaurant, and explore the Pioneers Museum.

Continue to Mudgee and check into your accommodation at the Parklands Resort, followed by dinner.

Day 7

Thoroughbred Horse Stud, Wine Tasting & Return

After breakfast, visit Gooree Park for a thoroughbred stud tour and wine tasting.

Depart for Lithgow for lunch and enjoy a comfort stop on the way back to Sydney.

Arrive back at the pickup location in the late afternoon, completing your New England discovery tour.
